Is this anything? just a regular leaf? Am I just crazy?
This would be the worst time of year for me to get my first bananas.

Viper1436,
Pretty sure that's a flag leaf! A flower should follow next congrats! Have you noticed previous leaves getting shorter?

Then that's definitely a flag leaf! It's possible to ripen fruit indoors, although it generally takes longer for the fruit to mature. Is it a Super Dwarf Cavendish?

Dwarf Cavendish yea, I'm excited and pissed at the same time. But for only having been growing bananas since may, and now I have my first flag leaf in September, I think that's pretty good! haha!

Re: Is this anything? just a regular leaf? Am I just crazy?
That's awesome! Generally it takes a least two growing seasons north of the tropics to get a banana plant to flower, so that's great that it's already flowering. Yes, I certainly understand that feeling. I have an Ice Cream that is currently flowering, but it's got maybe a month and a half left before I have to bring it in for the winter--still a lot of time needed to ripen the fruit. So it's kind of a toss up how good they will turn out, but it's really exciting nevertheless to even make it that far! Good luck to you with your plant--let us know how it goes

Flag leaf? I was gonna say that it's the actual flower coming out. You'll know in the next couple of weeks.
