Aren't these lovely?
These are my 6-8 inch misi luki. The 3 inch pots were stuck in a box on their sides with just shredded newspaper put around them. Nothing to keep the dirt in the pots or nothing! But kind seller sent me two free plants which I have no idea what they are but they aren't banana plants.
Hope this works! http://www.bananas.org/gallery/water...ile=101&size=1 |

Re: Aren't these lovely?
And it just gets better. Seller has two ebay names and I bought off him twice, sigh. Oh well, looks like I may get a refund anyway.

Re: Aren't these lovely?
Turns out these may not be my misi luki at all. They may be what was supposed to be ONe dwarf cavendish. Not sure why there are two bananas and which might be the DC or both or whatever, seller is so vague, not sure what he sent for extras, etc. sigh! Anyway, it is just a confusing mess. I emailed both sellers and one didn't even bother to answer so guess it is his own fault if I got him confused with the other. Here is a better picture:

Re: Aren't these lovely?
Sometimes I get worse stuff than you've got. Some of them I was able to revive. Take for example the much maligned TyTy nursery, I received a rotten corm from them but was able to revive banana plants from the rotten corms.
Your poor plants may still suvive though. I suggest that you water sparingly, never fertilize and give it a lot of warmth and humidity. Bananas are quite amazing in what abuses they can go through. |

Re: Aren't these lovely?
Well, got my refund finally. I have stuck them out in the greenhouse and will do as you suggested Joe, maybe they will survive. It just amazes me. I would never think to even send a banana plant this small through the mail, let alone charge people for it, lol.

Re: Aren't these lovely?
I hate it when people ship plants with no tags.
I went on a passionflower buying spree recently on ebay and got all these plants sent to me with no tags and everything is now a big guess till they bloom. And then, I'll have to match their pic with pics on ebay... How am I supposed to leave feedback if I don't even know which plant is which? Too many people assume that theirs are the only plants your buying through the mail. heh but about those you just got, nothing to keep the soil in the pots?!? sheesh

Re: Aren't these lovely?
Yeah, well I was nice enough to explain to him how a banana plant could be sent through the mail and arrive looking decent anyway. Who knows maybe next time he will actually change the way he sends them. Scary part is his feedback is 100%.

Re: Aren't these lovely?
LOL. Oh yes, been there - done that!
If I were you I would toss them in the compost pile not knowing for sure what you even received. Especially if you live in a cold area that requires a lot of pampering. It just is not worth the effort and wait (2-3 years) from those little sprouts to find out the plants are not even what you thought. There is just NO savings in buying little piece of crap tissue culture plantlets from sellers on ebay. I went round and round with a seller on there last season. This makes my $20 super corms look like the deal of the century. This is what I recieved last season: This is what a decent tissue culture plant should look like: Here is the quality of plant I ship: Mike |

Bananalover:
Even your case was unfortunate, I think that if you do plant these little banana plants, keep them moist and with a bit of sunlight they might survive very well. tropicalkid |

Re: Aren't these lovely?
The smaller one seems to have perked up a little. The top leaf has come up and is looking not too bad, not sure about the other one yet, it was a bit more damaged.
