Banana Noob... (Pisang Klotek & Hawaiian Apple)
Hi Everyone,
I've gotten a recent addiction to the world of plants. Thanks to Mitchel (Momoese), I've been able to get my fix when I picked up a Pisang Klotek and two Hawaiian apple banana plants from him. I will be growing these in containers. Here's a shot of my balcony which originally started out as project to screen the building across from me. More pictures to follow... |

Welcome! Are you going to be planting these in the ground soon? These are some big bananas to be growing in pots on a patio!

Re: Banana Noob... (Pisang Klotek & Hawaiian Apple)
Thanks guys. Here's another shot of my bedroom balcony from a different angle before I added the bananas. Things move around frequently since I haven't finalized where everything is going. The bamboo are in 15g containers for reference and are approx 8-10' tall.
I have no plans of putting these in the ground, I want to see how big I can get them in containers. I have two balconies, one is approx 10'x10' with about a quarter of it covered by the building and the other is 10'x30.' |

Re: Banana Noob... (Pisang Klotek & Hawaiian Apple)
this is going to be interesting i have all of mine in pots the only difference is i have sum of my pots stuck in the ground. I did this because of the high heat that we have here in LV but i have to say that I've only stuck to variates that don't get to big with the exception of the Ice Creams which get to 15 ft but I'm sure they wont get that tall i have all my big nana in 40g pots it bit hard to move around and even harder to fish out of the ground in the fall it will be interesting Edd to see how fast you can get them to pup and fruit so far iv only had one pup. im going to grow my Ae Ae in a pot all the way throw as i dont have any full shade for it so at leat for now its house bound. keep us posted on your progres

Re: Banana Noob... (Pisang Klotek & Hawaiian Apple)
I love it! The only improvements I can think of would be decorative pots, and more plants! I've seen a lot of balcony gardens, and a lot of them look cluttered. Yours looks nice and full without being a mess.
