Default Banana not happy

Got this plant a few months ago. Doubled in size after heavy watering as it was beat up when received. past month it has not been happy, droopy leaves, middle leave stopped pushing out, acts dormant. So i backed off watering, changed out to better soil. still looks crappy after two days. any ideas.
