Default Banana paper food services containers

I'm pretty sure these don't exist yet...but it's one idea I've had for awhile. Check out this little video for an entrepreneur competition happening right now in my college.

Wow, really awesome. I can't even imagine how much wood could be saved if all of the p-stem fiber from commercial banana plantations were used to make paper...

Awesome idea, Gabe! I have a few questions. How much banana material would be required to produce one food service container? With BBT, fusarium oxysporum, and a whole host of other diseases threatening our cloned bananas, will there be enough banana material to produce the containers long term? Perhaps you could use the seeded varieties that seem more resistant to disease. Currently, what are banana producers doing with their banana waste? Will there be competition for the banana by products that drive up the price?

I like your thinking Gabe. I have been thinking lately I would love to know how to process the fiber for rope and clothing. I know people do it I just want to know.

Hey you should write down every idea you have for banana products on a list. after a year I bet you would have a ton of ideas. Maybe even start a business with this one or others.
