Re: banana plants in a growtent
Hi! I'll tell ya members here have made me much more than very aware that bananas are TrOpIcAl plants that are meant to survive near the equator and locations that get a "full-dose" of sunlight year-around.
Iz Not easy keeping a greenhouse above freezing. Nor was the end of last year a good time to invest in a GH (maybe should have waited) You should make your location visible to us. At-least I'm getting this thing "broke-in" and tested. I goP in that spot too |

Re: banana plants in a growtent
I agree with jbyrd. If your temperatures are prone to go below freezing, even if only a few times in the winter, the grow tent will not keep out the cold well enough. I have a small greenhouse with insulation and a small heater in it. Even so, I cannot maintain a warm enough temperature for the plants to grow. We've had a bad winter so far, and temperatures in the greenhouse have dipped below freezing a couple of times with the heater running. I've lost a lot of plants.

Re: banana plants in a growtent
There is a business near my home that sells them.
They have one set up in the showroom and there are veggies growing in it. It seems you can grow some sort of dwarf banana plant because of the limited space. Inside seems almost just like a greenhouse. Looks like a good indoor setup .......mainly used for cannibis with good results they say. I would love to have one.
