Banana plants not growing as big as before
Hi,
I have been growing plants for about 10 years. I live in Central NY and each winter I cut them down and protect them during the cold months. They have been coming back every year, however they don't seem to be getting as tall the last few years. Some years the biggest ones would grow 10-12 feet tall or more, but the last 2 years, I'd be lucky if the bigger ones grow 5-6 feet tall. I haven't changed anything that I can think of that would cause this change. This may be a dumb question, but do they grow older (or the underground base) and not grow as much? Any ideas? Thanks! Rick / Syracuse NY area

Re: Banana plants not growing as big as before
Nutrients in the ground depleted? Could trying heavy fertilizing and some manure mulch?
