Default basjoo blooming

One year after planting, one of my basjoo's is blooming. Planted it when it was about 3' tall in 6/1/05 dug it up in nov. back out 4/1/06. Should have another in a couple of months or sooner. This is my first bloom ever, just started growing banana's last year so I'm very happy. Pics in the gallery.
I have about 15 plants( and as many pups already) now which include Basjoo's, orinico's, grain nain, goldfinger, and saba.....happy growing

Congrats! What good luck for you.
I checked your gallery - what do you feed those things? That one plant is *huge*!

Hi saturn, and thanks. I like to mix 1:1, 10-10-10 and epson plus, it's 0-0-22 and give 2 tablespoons for each plant 2 times a month. I give the smaller plants 1 tablespoon and I try to do it before a good rain.

Is anyone in Florida doing well w/ Basjoo? I have heard they don't like too hot a climate, and mine is simply surviving, rather than growing. Any tips?
