Default Basjoo in Ground Making Multiples

Hello. Last last fall, as a first-time banana admirer, I planted two small potted Basjoos which overwintered in my garden here in the Mid-Atlantic by dying down and then springing back up in late spring. As they should.

Each parent plant now has multiples attached that are as big as the central plant, then there are tiny ones a few inches from the center of the base at the bottom.

Do I just watch and see what happens? Apparently, the banana plants know what they are doing.

I had thought about digging and sharing? Or should I just let them do their thing since this will be their first full year in the ground...

knowing your zone would help out with that question immensely.

as far as sharing goes, a bad winter could kill out most of your plants. get your mat or mats as large as you want them then share.

Basjoo will spread and make new plants throughout the summer.
Let the plants establish themselves and spread for a few years.

There are many basjoo growing and care videos on the internet which you may use to grow your knowledge about these amazing plants.
