Default Best time to harvest Gold finger

Hey everyone,

my Gold finger bunch has been developing now for 4 months and all the fruit are plump. My normal practice is the wait till the first signs of yellowing to harvest.
Is it good to harvest now which is the practice in commercial operations.
Gold finger to me needs all the help it can get in the sweetness department, so would I be better waiting for more ripeness.
The plant is a first time TC so it only has 6 hands.

Cheers

Thanks for posting the question. Am not sure I can significantly answer but I would say to wait until the fruit has a hint of yellow. I don't bag either and have not had any problem with damage or bugs or vermin.

I've harvested way too soon and now am just waiting for my Mahoi to ripen the ones I've left on. I've recently had the Mahoi have another tree bloom. I plan on tagging it so that I remember when I first saw it emerge. Taking pictures has helped since I can refer to the date of it. The dwarf Cavendish group has another tree bloom. That group had been harvested way too soon and those never ripened but the second tree I left on until I couldn't take it any longer and harvested half of those but it did take forever for them to turn and the yellow was not as expected...more of a yellowish/green but the flesh was delicious. Patience is what I have learned.

This waiting on them is so difficult...I would love it if I had more plants in different stages but, they decide when to bloom, don't they?

Having a banana blast in Florida!!
