Re: Is this a bloom??
When you see the first hand of bananas appear, mark the date on the trunk with a large felt pen. That will give you a way to guess at when to pick them.

Re: Is this a bloom??
YEHHHAAA Cava! Pit, how is Kathy going to protect this fruit? The cold cut her pup back to mush last winter.
Cava wait until the blooms start, I really will hear some screaming from down Ocala way. |

Re: Is this a bloom??
What a great idea, to mark the date on the trunk. Love it. Kabby, I just dont know if Im going to get any of these thru the winter, I think the timing was really bad for this bloom. All I can do is wait and hopefully it will make it. Maybe I can throw a sheet over it on the nights where its supposed to freeze. At any rate, its come farther than I ever thought it would, and I have several pups off of it to continue them on. Great great fun!!! (this nanner had nothing to do with my post, I just wanted to use him!)

Re: Is this a bloom??
Hi, Annernanner, so far so good! It has been cool here; I wondered if that would slow it down. Its barely opening up, Ill get some pics this weekend and post them, to make sure its doing what its supposed to. Tho if its not, there aint much I can do for it, other than watch it. We're getting some windy stormy weather tonight, so I hope it hunkers down!
