Default Breaking Dormancy on Corm

Hi Guys: I just bought some banana corms. How's the best way to break dormancy and get them going?

Gabe is correct, although I like to scrape the corm with a dull knife and expose some new skin.I would get some good potting soil and place it in full sun, watering it when the soil becomes dry.wait patiently!,good luck.

What's the typical length of time it takes to start pushing out new leaves. I'm currently running around 90 in the day and 70 at night. I've used a Miracle Grow w/ Moisture Control potting soil augmented with additional Perlite, very high quality compost and sand. Moist and warm.

Dumb Question: I assume the slightly flattened part of the corm goes down and the slightly pointed end with concentric rings (old leaf bases?) goes up.

......give it a couple of weeks before you start to see growth.Make sure it is in full sun and water it when the soil starts feeling dry,in my case it would be about every 3 days.
