![]() I dug up 5 Musa Basjoo plants and stuck em in my grandmothers garage. Stupidly directly on the concrete floor. They looked fine a few months ago. Now all wilted, white mold on the base, soggy. Guess it's rotting.... Shoulda just stuck it under the house.
So, are they done for? I'm thinking of buying new plants, and planting these to see if anything happens? |

![]() I'm pretty sure they're done for but you never know with nature... Plant and see! Good luck.

![]() Thanks. I shoulda put forth the extra effort and put them under the house. Oh well. I just hate to start over with small plants.
If I plant the bulbs of what I have, what would be best? Just deep enough to thinly cover the top of the bulb? |

![]() Please know I'm no expert but I would rinse them and see if it will completely dry then put in ground but not water a lot. If they stay mushy may not make it but worth a try anyway. Hope this helps.

![]() With my work schedule and the rain in the forecast, I cut what's left of the stalk and such, 3 of the 5 were complete mush. One was pretty solid in the center and the last, was just slightly soggy. I just took those two and stuck in my my front flower planter, and if it takes off I'll transplant it. So it'll be a science experiment. Lol.
And with my work schedule I won't have time to prep and plant my new plants, so I'll go ahead and work the ground they were in last year, add some fresh compost and manure. So when they do come this week I can just put em right in with no work, lol. Guess this year I'll winter then under my house!!!! |

![]() I don't think it was the cement that did it. It sounds like you overwatered them. I kept mine on the cement over the winter and they did wonderfully. I kept them just damp enough to keep growing, and fertilized a couple of times. Stuck 'em out a month early and covered on two cold nights with heat. They'll be fine to winter over outside this year.
