see link Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew: DNA Barcoding It would certainly finally define a lot of the species It's just the sort of thing that bioversity international should be getting inolved in to sort out Musaceae once and for all. It'd be quite handy to have a litle hand held analyser whilst in the jungle too. not that there's a lot of jungle in Wiltshire, but you never know

Re: DNA barcoding of plants...
It would sure help eliminate some breeding questions in the future. Then we would be better able to identify lineage for sports and hybrids.
