Do you know what your Bananas are doing tonight?
Mine are growing after the serious amending and deep watering I did today.

I don't think they knew you were watching.

Sometime they grow so fast you just have to watch. These are truly great plants for the impatient grower unless your only concerned with fruit.

Re: Do you know what your Bananas are doing tonight?
Mitchel,
I totally agree. When I moved into my house there was nothing in my yard except for sand and weeds. I was very impatient and wanted a fast tropical look so I amended the soil and planted a bunch of bananas. I had a nice tropical landscape with some tall banana plants in less than 4 months! You can't beat bananas for an almost instant landscape. Jeff

Re: Do you know what your Bananas are doing tonight?
I know what you mean about almost fast growth. I have a Vente Cohol that I looked at this morning and there was no evidence of the bloom that I could see. When I got home this evening and checked on it about 11 PM there was the flag leaf almost open with the bloom close behind.
(Another example) A few weeks ago I went away for the weekend. When I returned the bloom was visible on 3 plants that I would have bet were no where near blooming when I left them 3 days earlier. I love bananas!!! |

Re: Do you know what your Bananas are doing tonight?
Mine really enjoyed the - totally unusual for here - thunderstorms we had all night last night. Two of my Ice Creams had leaves that were totally curled when it got dark. This morning they were all the way open. All of the bananas look happy today. Unlike me, who got no sleep...
