Default Dwarf Cavendish lighting

Ok, I have now placed my young plant in a pot. Living in the uk means that the climate is quite cold so thats why i choose to grown the plants indoors. I am trying to set up a place indoors which is warm, very humid and of course well lit. I have been told to buy fluorecent lights from the hardware shop. i was wondering what details of this type of light would i need to buy. If someone can give me the specs that would be great. I really need them well lit.
