Cool Dwarf Namwah!!!

Hi All!!

I got these new babies today!!!!

Now I am apprehensive, because I hope I don't end up with a 'problem child' like musaboro did & red splotched leaves emerge.
The pitfalls of eBay :(
If they do...you will be able to hear my shrieks via the text in that post.

I was reading & culling info, plotting & planning my next banana purchase...

...when Bob's shining remarks on the Dwarf Namwah...sent me over the edge & I bought 2!!

Wish me luck!! ~Cheryl

Nice looking plants Cheryl. If you don't like 'em when they start growing, just head them over my way.

Nice pups! Mine is in it's 2nd Summer here in the Florida Panhandle and HOPEFULLY will produce this yr. It's 6'+ with a sturdy trunk and leaves from ground level to top. The "racing stripe" down the center of most leaves is attractive too...

We can't stop you we're addicted too!
I have several Dwarf Namwah and they are healthy and beautiful.
The Mahoi is the one I started with and I have enjoyed showing off my double bunches a lot.
My goal is to get rid of the grass and throw away the lawn mower.
Good Growing!

I have found that I need to work the DN's into a 'Full Sun' pattern for 12-14 hours a day.
They are looking stressed today.
The stems look plump & adjusted well, while the leaves look like they're say, 'Help Us!'
I moved them back a few feet from where I had them which will put them in a 'Moderate Sun' area, about 6-8 hours a day.
I will eek them back out over a 2 week period.

Thanks for checking in everyone, good to have your input & support!!

~Cheryl

OK I couldn't resist bragging a little.
This is a picture of a Dwarf Namwah in my back yard.
Cheryl, this is what they can grow into. It is only a year or so old.
There are also lots of pups around the bottom.
Good Luck!

I would. I have had no banana perform like this one. I really expect with a bit of luck and proper overwintering to get this one to flower. In less marginal climates not only that but just a great looking plant as it matures.
