![]() Hey Jim,
from my experience with the Dwarf Orinoco I would just do the whole wirecage shredded leaves deal. If I were you and trying to get blooms I would read this post Time to put the bananas to sleep for the Winter As for growing I cant stress enough the importance of proper fertilizing. I use a good water soluable fert and dynamite slow release fert from Home Depot alex |

![]() Jim, get them in bigger pots ASAP if you're hoping for fruit next year. At this time of year I wouldn't doubt they grow in to a 15 gallon by fall. I just moved the last of mine that are going to , in the ground. The remaining few are in 15 and 25 gallons, I will try to keep them growing as much as possible in a heated porch with extra lighting this winter trying to do the same thing you are.

![]() i would put them in the ground, you can dig them up and store them like "bigdog" said or You can leave them in ground and try the cage method. depending on the number you have it might not hurt to try both methods and see which one works the best. I live in york,sc so our zones are not that much different. Do you have anyway of maintaning active growth through out the winter such as high powered lights and a way to water or a greenhouse. That would greatly increase chance of flowering next year.

![]() I would go with the method you mentioned in your last post (9:37 PM), and then get 'em in the ground as early as possible, like April, next year, so they have lots of time to establish an extensive root system, before spending their first protected winter outside.

![]() I had two that where growing but not as good as the other two so I put them in the ground to see if they would jump like the one I got from bigdog, the other two I will leave in the pots as they are doing well. I will re pot the others for winter and try to winter the one from bigdog in the ground as it is more cold tolerant.
