![]() Very nice. The ele ele is at the top of my want list. That black Balbisiana in the other thread is impressive also. I think either one would look great planted near my black bamboo.

![]() Thanks for the kind words you guys. Indeed it would make a great display planted out with some Lako.
The Ele Ele bananas are edible, they're a cooking banana however. I have honestly yet to taste them but I love to cook and am looking forward to it. They say these are excellent! I will offer you guys some fruits when I have a bloom. Here's the page in the wiki about the Ele Ele: http://www.bananas.org/wiki/Musa_Ele_Ele

![]() It was on my wish list and now on my "hope it takes off next spring" list! lol
I did read someone say recently that it was very sensitive to cold, though, worse than I had read. Anybody with any zone 9 experience with some input? Mine will probably be coming indoors this winter anyways, though. |

![]() Its high on my wish list too. But there's no chance of getting them over here.
Our tropical surpliers don't seem to want to take the chance with some of the more demanding bananas.

![]() Jarred,
Is that the extra one I gave you from Greenie? If it is, the clump I got from him is a pup making machine. I've given away 3 or 4 pups and the clump has 5 or 6 pseudostems. Your's was a lot taller than the clump I kept. Greenie has a great mature plant he posted pic of in another thread and I'm sure he has eaten them. Looks like it is growing great. Terry |

![]() Hi Mark,
yes, I`ve get my ele ele from a German privat Person. It was his last Plant, but you can ask Achim, he is from Austria. Here is a link to his online shop http://www.bananenshop.de/ Mark, when you really get one, I would change my own ele ele to a variegatet Musa of you! In a few days I will get to take some pics, but my plant is a small one, I`ve get it a few weeks ago. Tobias |

I have heard of a theory about the pH of the soil influencing the black colouring. It would be interesting if someone could conduct an experiment on this. This is also the case with AeAe, right? Anyway, beautiful plant you have there Jarred! Erlend
