Empty bed(s), but excited! Still looking for DM and PC
Well, I believe I have a couple of Raga Puri pups secured from the Beauty, I believe, here below:
Can't wait. Got all three circular beds ready -decomposed horse poop laden soil, bubblers, etc.. Will put the Raja Puri in the more exposed large diameter bed (off by itself)-my thinking; bigger area for thicker trunks, RP higher wind tolerance. Now for the two other beds... am still looking for a Dwarf Namwah and Pisang Ceylon. If anyone has pups coming of the real deal of either of these, I'm willing to compensate and giving 'em great home!

Nice set-up. I started out with some similar round raised beds for my bananas, but they outgrew the beds in a little over a year.

I guess I'm wondering why you don't do bigger circles? Or maybe yours are like those stupid side mirrors where things are larger than they appear? Have you done any research on banana circles? From my reading the circles are no less than 6' in diameter and the center is set up with a compost hole to feed the plants. You have the space. BTW, apparently dogs really love eating banana plants...

These beds, while not 'raised' do have the concrete edging blocks puzzled together. We've also put in an underground steel landscape edging (hammered into the ground)-it is under the entire concrete edging blocks ... to help keep all things growing in their perspective areas (grass vs. bananas). Range of depth in pics above is kind of deceiving. The smallest round bed has a diameter of 4', then the one next to it is about 5 1/2' diameter. While the larger one off by the Burr Oak is 6 3/4' diameter.

All of the circles/beds can be expanded... even if it means that we pull up underground edging and/or then reshape or enlarge their bed(s).
