I think Richard means that Senorita would be the fastest, given ideal conditions, which is in the tropics or a greenhouse.

Yes, pretty much. "Fastest" depends on climate. In your climate, Senorita might not be the fastest. It depends on how cultivars deal with your conditions.

In the tropics, many Musa cultivars will grow from pups to bloom in about the same number of months. What gives Senorita the edge is that it ripens faster than others. One of its synonyms is "Forty Days".

In zone 10 S.Fl. it took 10 mo. to fruit, and another 3 1/2 mo. to ripen. It was grown in full sun and watered & fed quite a lot. No faster to ripen than most others I've grown. As Richard said, the climate and conditions seem to play a pretty big role.

I've seen 'Santa Catarina' (basically 'Dwarf Brazilian') fruit in about 7 months here. It really depends a lot on conditions as the other have stated.
