Re: Flowering bananas from Germany
Hallo Rallele,

Re: Flowering bananas from Germany
WOW. Impressive!
Are they grown in greenhouses? I am totally innocent about banana trees, as I have never had a banana tree... neither in my garden, nor in a pot. I see some banana trees around Oradea (my town, in Romania) zone 7-ish, but they are kinda all the same kind. As tall as they can get over a spring-summer-fall time, when it dies to the ground with the first real cold weather. But i have never seen a bloom, let alone a fruit on those trees. Anyway! great pics and blooms! Calin |

Re: Flowering bananas from Germany
Nice one Ralf. You must get decent temps to get that lot to flower.
The Helens Hybrid looks like it was cut back then decided to flower.

Re: Flowering bananas from Germany
Wow, that is impressive!! I'd love to be able to produce some actual fruit like those "Red Jewels", just shows what can be achieved over here in Europe. How long did it take to produce ripe fruit on that "Red Jewell" and how old was it before it flowered? I think I might have to try and find me one of those
