Green Ensete Ventricosum
I believe my green Ensete is on its final weeks. After 5 seasons it pushed out a huge bloom. What do I do now? Where are the seeds? Do I eat the root? Do I keep my small children away so it doesn't fall on top of them? A beautiful trophy plant; I'm heartbroken to see it go. The picture was taken about 3 months ago.

Re: Green Search resultsEnsete Ventricosum
Awesome! Very nice-looking plant...congrats on the bloom! As far as your question about the seeds...the plant will bloom and produce small seeded fruits which you can remove and use to start a new plant. The main plant will die after it's done blooming, and I don't think you really have to risk it falling on your children LOL. I've heard they eat the corm of EV in Ethiopia...not sure how it is, but the plant is gonna die after it fruits, so you have nothing to loose! Not sure how to prepare it, but I'm sure Lorax or someone around here can tell ya how!
