Science czar's guru called for more carbon

"If, in some manner, the carbon-dioxide content of the atmosphere could be increased threefold, world food production might be doubled."

mankind of course. People have been around since the dinosaurs when carbon levels were higher and the planet was more lush.

I used an unventilated natural gas heater in an old greenhouse (avatar). The bananas did amazing during the zone 6 winters. I do not know how high carbon dioxide levels were in the greenhouse, but no doubt much higher than atmospheric levels.

Years ago I used to live in Connecticut and one winter I grew bananas in the basement. The gas furnace was also located there and was always toasty warm down there, possibly had higher co2 levels as well. The bananas only had fluorescent shop lights and they grew surprisingly well although they did get about 12-14 hours of light per day.

So were the carbon monoxide levels. Ever have them tested?

I bought an expensive CO detector. It was always 0ppm. I was tilling a section with a gas-powered tiller once and the detector went off, so I know it worked.

Carbon monoxide

Plants: Carbon monoxide does not poison plants since it is rapidly oxidised to form carbon dioxide which is used for photosynthesis.
