ha ha ha
so i go out riding around with a friend today and happen to go by one of the produce stores. they sell all kinds of flowers and stuff. well the first thing that catches my eye going by at 35 mph, were the 2 nana trees she had out there. ok so we have to stop. the second thing that catches my eye are the 2 huge sagos she has out front of the nana trees. from across the parking lot i can tell that they are hcm's.( that is in gratitude to yall on here) before, i couldnt tell you what kind of nana it was. so i walk over to her and ask her how much for the high color mini. she said, (sorry but i thought this was so funny)...how much is what??? i said the bananas tree. she said $25.00. well for here in this little rag top town most people would pay that. i told my friend who was with me( who i gave a hcm to) if you want to get another one, go to my fav. green house. the hcm's she had was one to a pot. and at my fav gh you get a mom and maybe 3 pups.it just amazes me that these people sell these plants dont have a clue as to what kind of nana they are selling. i just wanted to take the time and tell everyone on here, how much i appriciate the time you take to answer my questions, and how much i love this org! without yall id be paying $25.00 a pop for a nana tree that i know nothing about . and thanks to yall i know what to look for when i do go to buy a nana tree. nothing but love!

Re: ha ha ha
mskitty,
That reminds me when I stopped by a nursery the other day. They had bananas and I asked the lady what kind they were and how much they cost. She said they were Yellow bananas! That they get the yellow fruit! lol!!! The small ones cost $25 and the big ones $50. I got a kick out of it! I didn't want to embarass her. So I said, I stop back by maybe later. Dean |

Re: ha ha ha
lol! that is hilarious! Yesterday I went to this store near the market, and they had 1' nanners for 4$ (which is not bad considering the same plant would cost more than 10$ here). I guessed it was a SDC, cause the tag which said "banana tree" was the same as my other SDC I got 2 years ago. Of course, they had no idea what they were selling. But yes, this community is great! I am even spending my time here instead of studying for my final exam tmr

Re: ha ha ha
BAHhahahahaha. What I love about here is that when you pass a farmhouse with attractive nanners, the most they can usually tell you is Platano or Banano, but if you chat with them for a while they'll actually just GIVE you pups.... I got my rojitos that way.

Re: ha ha ha
I'm a total banana novice but have been in love with the plants for like two years now. When I go to some nurseries or big box stores, the bananas just say "Banana" on the label and I like have no idea what kind if was which is frustrating! :\
