It's Datil la Lima. Turns out the germplasm guys in Mayaguez mixed the real one up with what they have been distributing for several years. The correct Datil la Lima is shown in the pics in the ars-grin website. Red-ish trunk. What I got, second hand, green trunk, from another member is not it. But as it turns out it's a good naner. I'll keep growing it for awhile. Fruits at 6 ft. Big bunch. Very good taste.
I've been calling it my "not so datil la lima". Have been giving away pups for free. |
