Are you fertilizing the plant at all, or did you add fertilizer when planting it? Also, what is the soil mixture it's planted in?

I would start by cleaning the debris. I would definitely repot with better soil. I usually use the gravel at the bottom of the pot. I use a mix of 40-50% coarse sand with 30% composted manure (cow-sheep and chicken) and the rest is gardening soil. It's impossible to overwater with that mix and so far it's working great for me. I grow them in pots. Use a way larger pot too.

Then, update your location in your profile and give us infos about the plant and it's environment. That's gonna help!

And listen to Gabe, he's better than me at growing nanners! He's got lots of experience at it.

Good luck!

I have been fertalizing with a 15-30-15 fertalizer.

It is the pot and soil that it came in.

I also dont empty the tray when I water it.

I live in NB Canada

Do you think it is safe to repot in this condition. Should I use a clay or plastic pot?

I wouldn't worry about condition at this point. I'd pay attention to what those who grow in pots said about soil mixture. As for pot material, I've used both when I grew indoor plants and, as long as there was proper drainage, I noticed no difference in performance. Largest you have and have space for would be my recommendation. *says the FL gal who has actually purchased honking big plastic pots having lost her free sources*

Oh and do update your profile; it really does help others help you.

I'd go with plastic. PM me your phone number and I'll call you and give you some pointers. I'm in Canada too.

Because of the very small pot pictured and the fact you said 'I have been fertalizing with a 15-30-15 fertalizer'; I suspect the brown edge leaves are from fertilizer burn. Too much in too small a space/pot. Re-pot with compost & soil mix as already stated; use very little 'slow release' fertilizer; and get the plant more sun light.

Oh well, just my opinion ... what do I know????
