Default help/advise

What time of year do the bananas start to produce fruit? Also need to find out why my plant looks like it does with ragged /burnt looking leaves. I have posted a few pix in the gallery by my username (rtwpi). Started using a 5/10/10 about a year ago, 8oz scattered and scratched into the soil every 3 months. Rainfall has been double what we normally get here in Atlanta. Any help would be most appreciated. I can be reached direct at rtwpi@comcast.net

I'm no expert, in fact I'm quite new to bananas --so take my advice with a grain of salt-- but I recommend staying away from fertilizer and instead using copious amounts of compost. I only amend with fertilizer when I need to, per soil tests. Again, this may not be right for you and may not even be a solution to your problem but is just my two cents.
