Re: help! my maurelii is burning.
I just saw the other thread you started about this, btw, where you mention you are unable to post pictures.
Here's some tips on it: Variegated Dwarf 'namwah Pearl' What error, if any, are you getting? I would be happy to walk you through it, send me a private message if need be.

Re: help! my maurelii is burning.
mediahound, the new leaves are also tearing, like they are struggling to get out.I just put it outdoors with half a day sun, don't know what else to do.I did fertilize with osmocote when I replanted. I asked on garden web because for some reason I could not get my thread to "take" on this forum yesterday.Really love this plant and wanted to see it flourish.

Re: help! my maurelii is burning.
How fast is the plant growing? really fast?
About the thread issue, there is another thread explaning what happened. It had to do with the inability of the site to interact with the database properly. But alas it is fixed now. Your plant will probably return to normal, this sort of thing with the leaves not coming out as they usually do happens a lot when growing conditions change and the plant stresses. As for the burn spots, maybe dust off some of that osmocote thats still on the surface of the soil, and maybe repot the plant with more soil in a bigger container. Just some ideas that probably can't hurt, and may very well help.

Re: help! my maurelii is burning.
I have a clump of enano gigante that came outside a few weeks ago after spending a sad winter indoors. Almost all the leaves burned terribly, despite being in mostly shade. Of the four large pseudostems, two were lost over the winter and two lived. One of those is now growing very strong and healthy, the other is having its leaves emerge all ripped up and very tender and floppy. We'll see what happens. There are still 7-10 other bananas of varying size in the clump which are smaller and doing well, so it will be a dramatic display when everything is adjusted to summer!
Not sure if it made a difference but the clump was repotted a couple of weeks before moving outside, since it was starting to die due to being incredibly pot-bound. I'm sure yours will pull through! ~Joe |

Re: help! my maurelii is burning.
Hi Benny,
What arrow? Where did you see it? Anyway, I use Adobe PhotoShop, it has an arrow-line tool. You might want to try out Gimp, it's free and should get you going with image editing. http://www.gimp.org/screenshots/
