Da jiao, also transliterated Ba jiao, is commonly known as Basjoo.

This name is not referring to M. basjoo. I am finding the name referenced in various documents but cannot find any info other then that is an ABB which you also seem to have found.

Why do you want to know about this cultivar?

Joy Re: ho kwows a musa dajiao.

Yakuza, if it is really what it is claimed to be an edible cultivar, the Chinese words is translated as Big Banana.

Da = Big

Jiao = Banana

It could be one of the many cultivars there and if I am not wrong here, being a cooler place in China, most of the cultivars there are of the Cavendish type. I was told that the typical SEA cultivars which we get here are not found there as they are too cold sensitive for commercial production.

Beth, Ba = Jungle. Da is pronounced like Tarh, as in Big!
