Re: How to grow Ae Ae?
At my house!
I have several plants and they really don't require anything different in my opinion. I will say my mat in mostly shade does not do as well as my mat in full sun. Good luck!

Re: How to grow Ae Ae?
I have 2 one came from Thailand and the other came from Greenie.
Last year I put 1 i the ground and it did not like the summer in Oklahoma at all it got smaller and smaller. This year I put them in pots and when they started growing they have been doing well They are under a shade cloth but they are still burning but we have had 60 days of 100 plus temps. Yesterday it was 118, They are just planted in Mircle grow potting soil and I give them fish emulsion and Miracle gro. |

Re: How to grow Ae Ae?
Well with most plants, just think about where they originally came from and that will be your guide.
Since these came from Hawaii, they like well drained soil that doesn't really hold water for long, high in organic matter, lots of frequent rain (some elevated humidity), and they aren't the tallest thing around where they come from, so they probably would appreciate partial dappled shade. And of course they like steady temperatures, never rising too high or dropping too low. Maybe that's why we sometimes have problems with them, huh?just like what we give them in Indiana or Oklahoma, right? LOL......
