Default Hurricane Sandy

Well Sandy blew past us yesterday here in Daytona Beach and although out to sea I managed to take a beating. My cardaba with fruit and also my huge AeAe were blown over. The Cardaba broke and is a loss and the fruit is too young to save but the AeAe is a totally different story. The whole tree blew over pulling the whole corm up out of the ground leaving behind all of the pups that were surrounding it. Im not going to cut the fruit off or the tree down until the fruit show signs of ripening. The whole tree is laying on the fence with half of its corm still in the ground. I am goingn to pull it out once the fruit ripens and plant the tree in another location hoping for some more pups. There are still 11 full leaves on it too. I am shocked at hoew many pups it has sent out already, so perhaps it will send out more since it will have lost all of the ones it had. That always works onmy bromeliads, as long as I keep removing the pups they continue throwing out more. Anyone has any thoughts on this working??? Thanks in advance.

I don't have enough experience with this banana stuff to offer any advice but I feel your pain, I only live down the road from you so I know how windy it was.
