I want my dwarf red back!
Just kidding. But where's Taylor? Maybe he's gotten a pup from the pup I sent him last year.
I lost both my DR and goldfinger over the winter and have yet to find them except online. Did finally get Maurelii... 3 of 'em! Also, does anyone have a pic of small superbum for comparison? I "supposedly" have one but am really unsure. After a year, it's less than 2ft and the leaves keep breaking. |

Re: I want my dwarf red back!
Taylor, when I posted that, way back when, hadn't seen you around in awhile. And as I said, I was just kidding.... well, sorta.
But, if you can stand to part with one of them when they get larger, I won't say no. LOL Does school start for you tomorrow? Sucks, huh? Kylie, that would be great! As I always love to mention, I lost alot last winter when the greenhouse came down in a storm (big tree) but I was really partial to my goldfinger. Somehow I got confused of what was important to get into the house. Would the goldfinger be large enough now or needs a little more growing time? PM with details if you wish. |

Re: I want my dwarf red back!
I will send you one if they get big enough. We just had a cold front tonight, and I hope that doesn't delay growth.
School does not start tomorrow. It starts in a week or too (WHEW) even though that still sucks. What happened to your greenhouse sucks too. I want a Goldfinger. lol j/k Kylie keep your nanners. |

Re: I want my dwarf red back!
Taylor, did I send you a goldfinger pup? Can't remember... seems like a life time ago. LOL And what do you mean IF they get big enough? You better baby those babies.
This itty bitty cold front that dropped us down into the 80's isn't going to stall any growth. The few drops of rain we got isn't going to help any, though. Hope you got more rain than we did. I think I counted 11 drops. Kids start school here tomorrow. Thought you guys did too. |

Re: I want my dwarf red back!
No, you said something about it, and Thousand Fingers, but you did not want to divide.
They will get big enough, but whatever likes to eat the leaves that low is enjoying them. And I am not stopping them because they are growing in height, so eventually the pest will give up....lets hope. Were in the 70s and we got quite a lot of rain. I sat in a hammock on the lakefront tonight and watched the storm on the other side of the water. It was AWE-SOME and I truly truly mean that. Herons and Seagulls flying across the water as fish jump up and make a splash amongst the raindrop ripples with lightning in the background and thunder very loud. The smell of rain and the wet dog sitting next to me. Really a multi-sensory experience. I loved it. Wow that was random, hope Kylie send you a nice un! |

Re: I want my dwarf red back!
Dang, I had forgotten that about the goldfinger pups being too small. And then they died a cold death! Sheesh, makes me want to cry thinking about all that death again. Brown, melting fiber, mushy corms. LOL
Remember the lady down at the beach that sold me the Cali Gold? Gone. Dead. It never really thrived, though. One odd thing was, a superbum.. or so it was sold to me as... survived. I don't think it's superbum, though. I need to post some pics. Glad you enjoyed the storm and smelly dog. We had lots of thunder, and a few drops of rain as stated, but that was about it. I just flipped over to the weather channel... 73 and the AC still running strong! |

Re: I want my dwarf red back!
Mushy corms! HAHA I have felt that before. As gross as it is, more sad.
Gone, dead?! Did it get established? It didnt thrive! Well that calls for a replacement. :06: I have 1 available, but I am hoping for fruit and that means I can't take it off. Superbum, eh? Outside? Survived? Pictures............ Im lovin this new weather. Sitting in the hammock, it got so cold (relatively) I started to shiver. I guess I need to break out the sweats!(for this week). Oh lord I bet they wont fit. Taylor |

Re: I want my dwarf red back!
I'll post some pics soon.... of what I have left. *rolls eyes* And yes, I would say the CG got established, and grew ever so slowly, but never really "took off".
Meant to ask you... have you been yet to the K-mart at Battlefield? They carried a big inventory of cavendish, gran nain, and other everyday varieties... and palms. Had some humongo sago's for $200 and I was hoping they'd still have some left in the fall for good sale prices. Sweats... in August, in Virginia Beach. Yeah, right! LOL |

Re: I want my dwarf red back!
Oh, duh! I wear short sleeves and shorts with flip flops until mid January! We get 70 degree days in January, and that time last year I brought my Nannas out for some good old sunshine. I will say though mid November there is always a cold snap, and then another cold snap in February and thats about it.
No, I have not been to the one on Battlefield. I went to the one right by my school at Town Center on VB BLVD and Independence BLVD. They had Gran Nain and Cavendish along with Rajapuri from Going-Bananas in Homestead FLA. They all had pups at least 2 to 3 or more. This K-Mart never has palms. I don't go out to Battlefield much, but I go to the Outer Banks a lot, and the K-Mart at milepost 7 or 8 has a lot of Palms year round. No Bananas though. I think it is all variable. You'll build your collection back up soon enough Mona, you can't resist the temptation of the BANANA |
