Default Musa Ingens?

Is there anyone growing this species? It is supposed to be absolutely massive.
Due to its size alone I would expect it to have considerable cold hardiness.

i tried but didnt get any seeds to germinate (out of 5)
when you order from RPS its best to order from the "new" section

in the new section currently i would recommend ensete ventricosum "large seed" or balbisiana var balbisiana for big plants
both germinated for me

It's essentially a scam since no one can really grow these outside of their natural habitat as far as I can tell.
Members have gotten them to sprout and grow a bit but not much else.

"it requires crazy day/night temper fluctuations. I gave up on it because of those requirements"

Musa ingens!

M ingens report

Musa I N G E N S 1st sprout in the netherlands!!

I know some people who defenately grow them.

Mine is a challenge, but currently growing pretty well, at around a leaf / week.

This summer it didnt grow much, probabely because it was outside, and it was too hot, too cold, too w/e.
Now a constant 21 degrees, and its enjoying that!

This species is really hard to grow, a while ago I tried but it didn't work, none of the seeds germinated
