My damn Raja Puri is blooming!!!!!
Beautiful plant. I thought for sure I would have a whole stalk of bananas next spring. I went out to look at my plants yesterday afternoon and noticed the flag leaf on my RP. Might as well cut it down now to let the pups grow as much as they can before next year. Don't these things know they aren't supposed to bloom at the end of October!!! This follows a very late bloom on my largest Ice Cream about a month back. It has a full stalk of bananas but they didn't fill out. Another wasted bloom!
Oh well. We'll see how next year goes. Maury Baton Rouge, LA |

Re: My damn Raja Puri is blooming!!!!!
How tall is it? About 7'? You can probably cover that stem w/ a 4'x4'x8' frame and a bit of plastic. If you make the frame big enough that the RP doesn't freeze back this winter, maybe you can get an earlier blossom next year.
