Default My first bloom of a sort

A week or so ago I noticed my plant (can't recall the exact name or type) that rmplmnz gave me last summer pushed out this small leaf (it's in the first pic), since I recall that is what a banana family plant does before a bloom, I knew what was next.
Here is a progression. I think there may be a few more buds on it left to flower, it's a real nice pinkish reddish flower:
