My ''Pisang Ceylon''!
Hello!
I got my ''Pisang Ceylon'' last fall and overwintered it potted outside, unprotected,in my Pyrgos garden. It did well and survived with no pseudostem damage temperatures down to -2,5C and lots of winter rain, more than 632mm to be exact! Come spring, its dripper clogged and survived 2 weeks of bone dry soil in full sun, while potted and actually had 2 leafs in decent condition! Then,i found a spot and ground planted it. It was very skinny from the drought and the leafs paper thin. Here is a photo of it right after ground planting it,after the 2 weeks of drought! And here it is about a month later,at the end of June! Looking forward to see it grow tall!!!

Re: My ''Pisang Ceylon''!
A definite improvement! It's amazing how banana plants can recover from so much abuse.

Re: My ''Pisang Ceylon''!
Thank you very much Austin and Mark for your kind comments!
Here is an updated photo of my ''Pisang Ceylon'' from the Christmas holidays! The area its growing at get little sun in winter as its at the north side of my garden. It should speed a lot and get some bulk on it as soon as it grows 1-2 more meters and starts getting a good amount of full sun! Thats what the ''Tall Orinoco'' growing beside it did once it reached that height and the sun and its pretty big and fat now!
