Never give up ...
Last week I was clearing out the shade house where I overwinter the plants. Some banana plants showed no signs of life by late May, so I tossed them out and recycled the pots. We had a few inches of rain throughout the week and on Monday, a week later, I looked down and saw this cast off dead plant:
I looked a little closer as I though I saw something: I looked really closely and saw a tiny green sprig: I found a pot, added some dirt: ... Hopefully it will make a full recovery over the next few weeks.

Re: Never give up ...
Yeah, this definitely wouldn't be the first time I've seen a banana plant come back from virtually nothing when appearing as 'dead.' If it's doing that, I have no doubt it will come back to be a nice plant for ya! Just keep treating it like it's crap! LOL j/k. Sometimes they like to be tossed aside and neglected a bit, though.

Re: Never give up ...
I agree. I removed a couple of pups from my SH3240 andwithin a couple of weeks they rotted away. I left the pots where the sprinklers could hit them and one resprouted!
I think as long as there's a solid bit of corm, there's Hope.... Cheers, Pat |
