Not quite AeAe
But, Stuttgart Canna gives me the same effect in a smaller more cold tolerant package.

Re: Not quite AeAe
That's beuatiful on its own. Yes, that should have the same effect. Ae-ae's not really suited for us in our area. Ae-ae's are tall and could easily be shredded and knocked down by strong winds that we frequently have. Ae-ae's have the same cold sensitivities as Kru and other cavendishes. When you plant these outside in our area, they die back to the ground and will never return. Unless you have a very tall greenhouse...
Perhaps there is hope in Variegated Dwarf Namwah. |

Re: Not quite AeAe
Mike,
That's beautiful. Where did you get it? I agree with you that it is a good stand-in for an AeAe. Richard |

Re: Not quite AeAe
I aquired Stuttgart through a trade several years ago. I do sell them on ebay when I have divisions I want to split. I sell as amhydroponics on ebay. Keep an eye on my seller page for them to come available or I will post in when I have extras.

Re: Not quite AeAe
My friend have cannas that have the same variegation, it is taking over a big part of his yard. We might be throwing away a big bunch for the garbage trucks to pick up, when we clean his yard later in the fall. But we will not sell on eBay, it is not worth his time.

Re: Not quite AeAe
Well I'LL buy a chunk from anyone who has an extra piece as long as it is the same thing.
Joe, you can just wack off the top and throw a bunch of root sections in a box for me. Just keep me in mind. Terry |

Re: Not quite AeAe
Will try to remember that Terry. Sometimes all it takes is a reminder. We whack off things after the first frost when they turn brown on the leaves.

Man! That's a beautiful canna. If it's not too late, I'd like in on that too! I will buy a couple of plants from anyone who is interested. I can wait!
Joe - when is the first frost in your area? |

Re: Not quite AeAe
Yes, put me up on the board for at least one.
Would be a great addition to the two types of Tropicanas I currently have.

Gorgeous plant! Great photo. It's soothing just to look at it.
