PR Dwarf Super Plantain
PR Dwarf Super Plantain...vigorous grower and always produce me a nice, decent plantain bunch for the last three years.....
Thanks for checking the thread/photos! In my current (third) generation, growing from corm to flowering stage, total 11 months in my location, South Florida!.... 05/09/2015 08/27/2015 I agree with Keith (PR-Giants) about the rewarding super-sized ratoon crop of the french plantains (PR Dwarf Super Plantain) compare to horn and false horn plantains. I also, currently grow PR Common Dwarf Plantain (false-horn type plantain) and I can see the notable sized differences between the two.... I collected some information/data to compare with my future growing generations and to share with growers/members as well.... Current (third) generation of PR Dwarf Super Plantain..... Pseudostem diameter (girth) (measurement done at one meter up from the plant base)= 24 inches Plant height = Approx. 100 inches PR Dwarf Super Plantain bunch information: 9 hands total 129 plantain fingers total 6 1/2 inches = measurement of fingers at opening of the last hand (next time, I will take the measurement in the third or fourth hand of the plantain fingers at opening). more info/photos still coming.....at harvesting, etc......

Re: PR Dwarf Super Plantain
Updates photos from my PR Dwarf Super Plantain....Ready to be harvest...
Photos from 12/08/2015.... I already took out the first two hands from the plant...They are really a nice size plantains!....I will keep the rest of the hands a little longer on the plant hopefully they get little more big in diameter! (fat)...... First hand (15 plantain fingers)....2 of them already getting ripe!..... Second hand (14 plantain fingers)..... I took some measurement of the plantain fingers...they are approx. 9 1/2 to 11 inches in length....nice fat plantain fingers!..... I will keep updating as soon I take out the rest of the plantain hands!.....
