Question Question about "generations"

Hello. I have read about multiple referenced to the "first generation" or "later generations" of a banana etc., and i'm wondering exactly what that means. how do bananas have a "first generation" when they multiply via pups. Also, does this mean that if i grow, say, a double, and i take off one of the pups (because it will be in a container), then plant the pup in nother pot, that the generation count will "reset" and that it wont give a double bunch or something? sorry if i'm not making sense, but i really have no idea about this.

Default Re: Question about "generations"

Yep, generations are usually referring to cases like the "Double" banana in which if you leave the pup there, that's a generation, however removing it will indeed reset things and you'll have to wait again for a double crop. The case could be wrong, but I haven't seen anyone say so.
