![]() Good evening, everyone. I overwintered my Raja puri bareroot in the garage last winter and planted it out in early spring. The pseudostem was very firm and appeared to survive the winter. However, rot set in and the plant had to grow back from the corm.
In the picture below you see two pups that are the same size that emerged from that corm. My question is should I leave the pups attached to the same corm or go ahead and divide the corm in half resulting in two plants? If I divided the corm now, I would leave both pups in place in the ground and merely take a shovel and cut them. The plants will be left growing for another month or so but then will be dug up and stored in the cool crawl space this winter in hopes of saving the pseudostem. These plants have a pseudostem of about 5 feet now. Any thoughts? ![]()

![]() Good plan: go for it. That way you have three plants, as opposed to a group that might all be affected/infected/damaged from what ever happens to one of them. They will have time to adjust to the "shock" of seperation, before digging them up.
