Jarred are there two types of Kru or is red Kru the propper name for it ?

I ask because I have one and it was just called plain Kru. I got it a year ago from a dealer in the states as a small TC and the damn thing hasn't grown an inch since I got it.

Excellent pics by the way.

I've read and been told that there are two, red and green. HOWEVER, Agri-Starts, the big tissue culture company where most of the nurseries get theirs from, only lists it as "Kru", not red or green. Theirs is red though.
AnnaJW has a plant labeled kru that looks green here:

I've read JeffreyP once wrote that Red Kru can turn green by a shift in soil PH.

btw, Mark, I would nurture it if its not moving, when season comes you might want to dig around it and pack some compost down by the roots. These are worth the tlc effort!

Thanks Jarred. I would take your advice BUT its still only about 5"tall and in a small pot. It wasn't from Agris that I got it . It was Eldons. After seeing yours it makes me want to persivere with this little fella all the more. Though I think it will soon follow in the path of the Namwah pearl that it came with.

Great pictures. Can't wait to see a banana bloom in person!

Newbie question- do the banana flowers have a odor? good or bad?

To me, Orinoco have a distinct scent.
There's slight variation between the cultivars.

The scent is not so pleasant but it's not offensive either.
