Default Rojo/blood banana in zone 8?

It was that kind of banana or a zebriana or whatever they sell at lowes. Now I was pretty sure none of them can survive winters here. They are right next to the ocean and are a small clump. Pretty sure I saw them gorwing last year but looked mainly green from the street. Anyone have a idea if these types can survive in NC zone 8b?

They would probably survive there OK but it may also have been 'Bordelon' you saw. It looks similar to the blood banana but the leaf markings aren't nearly as striking (at least in my opinion) on 'Bordelon'. In fact, the older leaves tend more towards green with flecks of red from what I've seen.

I have planted Rojos twice in two years with some limited cover (small amount of mulch) and they never came back. I am in zone 8a (maybe 8b) Plano, suburb north of Dallas.

Only Chinese Yellow and Basjoo has come back for me. However with the tips I got here I will try with some more tender variants this year. Goldfinger and Ice Cream.

I had them survive here in 8b Texas. They were stunted after last years cold spell.
