Re: So Cal fires/wind
Hey! Jon and Mitch, we'll have to get together and talk about growing up in the "Valley". I lived near 'SFVSC" (if anyone remembers the old CSUN) and went to Granada Hills high school! I'll be back around Christmas and would love to see everyone's Banana's!
My brother lives in Valley Center, near Escondido, and is fighting the fires to save his house. He says that the wind is down a bit today from yesterday. Last I heard, my house is still there in Canyon Country, but that was noonish. Not sure about now! Margie |

Re: So Cal fires/wind
Man the winds blew like crazy in my part of town. But i was ready for the winds. I tied down some of my taller bananas, and i also thinned them out a bit. Brought in all the my potted tropicals. They took a beating, but they will all live.Only lost one branch with all the heavy winds. So dry out here, but been watering to keep them moist. Air is really bad out here. The lake Arrowhead fire is really blowing smoke over my area.

Re: So Cal fires/wind
Mark,
You had wind today? It was strange, but we had very little. But everything is really dirty from the ash. From where we are, we can see the smoke from Temecula and OC. Usually can see the rocks where Arrowhead is too, but the sky is too dark. Lots of people were walking around today with masks around here. My husband had to go to Ensenada today. He said the flames were right next to the freeway for awhile. This is unbelievable. |

Re: So Cal fires/wind
I was really worried about you guys this morning when I couldn't bring this site up, and feared that things were even worse than the tv is showing. Take care!
