BTW someone asked what the 4x4 pole I had it tied to was- its a 20 foot pole with 2 bat houses on top.....

Excellent. You want to support the highest point of the flower stem, just like you have it. Take a wire, and and run it through the "crossbar" (2 tees and the elbow), and wrap it up around the stem. That way, if it gets windy, it will not come loose and all out the the banana plant sways.
