Looks like you had a great time! Were the undersides of the leaves as powdery blue as they look in the pic?..........Great color!

Austin, interesting that you mention that. Where did you hear that from? Mine's in the ground and it's huge. Not looking forward to digging it up.

Taylor, I read it from an online article from the University of Mississippi if I remember correctly. It is supposed to be almost as hardy as basjoo. According to the article, it should survive your winters easily.

Interesting... and they aren't the only people saying it is hardy to zone 6/7. I might cut off the pup and "sacrifice" the mother. We'll see.

To tell the truth, I didn't notice anything special about the color, except that the pseudostem was dark. I think the bluish tinge was mainly from the lighting in the convention center.

Yes, that's the article, Taylor. Do you have a pic of yours? Let's get some more pics of the Black Thai on this thread folks!

Here's a picture of mine from last month...

It's 9.5 ft from the ground to the top of the pstem (where the leaves emerge). It was 2 ft tall back in April. Falling acorns are shredding the leaves.
