Thought it was dead!
From my son harvesting all the orinoco pups and plants I found a dried up dead looking miniature pup that came off of one of the plants in the yard. Just for the heck of it i threw it in a tiny pot to see if something would happen.
got some green shoots coming up!

Re: Thought it was dead!
Something DID happen. Well, what should I say, bananas are tough little fighters.

Re: Thought it was dead!
NICE! Yeah, bananas are pretty tough plants. Compared to a LOT of other plants, they're very hard to kill (provided you don't freeze them or underwater them). I mean, seriously, what other plant can you cut off the entire upper plant/roots, toss it in a compost heap and it'll still grow back without hesitation!?

Re: Thought it was dead!
This happens to me too. I bought a thin banana and planted it 3-4 weeks ago and found it was not growing, I peeled the outside trunk and pour the EM solution, many worms were inside, of they died. After that new leaves sprang and also a tiny shoot show up. So glad to see.

What's an EM solution? I might want to do that too? And what kind of worms inside? Earthworms?

Re: Thought it was dead!
LOL...so true, so true! Typically it's always the plants you DON'T want to grow that live through anything...but the ones you DO want to survive croak off! Bananas are just the exception to the rule!
