![]() Pro # 1... It's free. #2 it's high in nitrogen.
Con # 1 you can get a ticket for applying it directly. #2 plants are what they eat, too.. so when you eat those bananas, can you not think of it? I know that's not much, but it's a start. ![]()

![]() Make sure you dilute your "product". Full strength will kill young seedlings--sadly I know this. (Heck, I was trying to "stink out" the armadillos who sometimes come hunting. Yes, they stopped dropping by but I had to replace plants.) I have not tried applying it at any strength on pups or mature musas.

![]() From what I have read on here, you want some variation of 2-1-3 (4-2-6, 8-4-12, etc.) for bananas.

I use 46-0-0 or 32-0-0 granular in very calculated doses. I do not recommend this for a novice gardener. For a container fertilizer triple 13 through 18 will work as a good general inexpensive fertilizer.. In your zone you will get good growth and maybe a flower or two. This works well on lawns also. ![]() How can I increase my chances from a flower or two, including fruit. I'M not sure of what else to do if I am to graduate from a novice to an experienced grower. Yes, my plants are contanerized, however, I am only raising the dwarf plants. When not outside I will be using strong grow lights with the containers very large. Why should I not expect more?
Thanks, Bill |
