variegated Raja Puri in the U.K.
Check out this variegated Raja Puris for sale from Jungle.co.uk. http://www.junglegardens.co.uk/PlantOrders/enter.html click on collectors corner. Not a bad price at £75.00. Unfortunately, Peter won't ship any plants out of the country. =(

Re: variegated Raja Puri in the U.K.
I thought I would up date my pictures of the V. Rajapuri. Its come on well since may this year. It gets a bit burnt from the sun but seems happy enough.
Last week I took all the old leaves off ready for its winter location in my polytunnel.

Re: variegated Raja Puri in the U.K.
Why on earth folks use frames on their sites is beyond me.
It appears they are sold out. Here is the link to their page for collector's items (the variegated Rajapuri is listed here by not on their bananas page): http://www.junglegardens.co.uk/Plant...en-uk/d28.html I don't know if their images are copyrighted, so here is the link to their photo: http://www.junglegardens.co.uk/Plant...d=39352.587500 I want one, of course! |

Re: variegated Raja Puri in the U.K.
Thanks for the links Harvey. I didn't know to look in the collectors corner. I went to the site earlier, and didn't see it listed under the banana section so I figured they took it off the site...

Re: variegated Raja Puri in the U.K.
Wow, what a great mutant. Does anyone know if the skin of the fruit is variegated also?
Wish we could get these in the States.

Re: variegated Raja Puri in the U.K.
I see they sell the Zingiber officinale for 9.95 English pounds. I have grown
mine from a piece I bought at the grocery store. Don't know why they list it under 'collectors items' ? Eek, off topic Ron |

Re: variegated Raja Puri in the U.K.
Jarred there are no pups yet. My normal Rajapuri is no where near as big and yet it has had a few pups.
I couldn't tell you if the friuts will be variegated . I doubt I will ever get it to flower. The petioles are lightly marked also with a tinge of pink like my Ae Ae The new leaves come thru plain green and turn variegated after a few days Peter has trouble trying to keep up with the demand for them. As soon as he gets pups they are sold out. Tobi......My friend helen got a snow white of ebay a while back and it looks a nice plant.

Re: variegated Raja Puri in the U.K.
Lovely plant Mark. I was never into bananas until I moved here, and never knew that so many varieties were available there.
